This is so true! Did you ever notice that when you're thinking that all is going well something goes missing? Take for example a couple of weeks ago Nick and I where heading out the door to go shopping, as we get to the car I reach for my keys and realize that I don't have them!!!! So I head back to the house Nick in toe asking why we are not getting into the car, "Well hunny, Mommy was silly and forgot the keys." As I try to open the door I realize that like any normal human I locked it! Well crap how am I going to get in there now? Brian's at work and of course I don't have my cell phone!! Which I believe it is sitting right next to my keys in the house. Boy this day is just turning out great. Well now I can see that I am really good at keeping any bad guys out as well as myself, because the front window is locked too! So Nick and I head around to the back of the house.
As I am hoisting my child over the back fence I am really hoping that I was somewhat lax in my lock down and left the back door unlocked...Please Lord!! As I watch Nick turn towards the door (this is all going in slow motion) I hold my breath, he reaches for the handle....and thank the Lord the door slides open!! "I'm in mommy!!" I tell Nick to head to the front door to open it and the minute I turn the corner there is my angelic baby boy holding the door open with the biggest grin I have ever seen. And what do I see sitting on the table right next to the door?? My keys and cell phone!
Needless to say on our way to Safeway we stopped at Target and got Nick a special treat for saving the day!! Thank goodness he's easy to pick up!
So it just goes to show you that the chart is correct and now I ALWAYS check to make sure that I have keys in hand before I shut the front door!
